No survivors in crash of Russian helicopter with 22 on board in far east
Rescue teams discovered that there were no survivors from the wreckage of a Russian helicopter that went down in the remote Kamchatka peninsula, which had 22 people aboard, according to state news agency TASS on Sunday.
The helicopter, identified as a Mi-8T, had just departed from a location near the Vachkazhets volcano. This region, located approximately 4,400 miles east of Moscow, was affected by a cyclone over the weekend, bringing severe winds and rain; however, it remains uncertain if this was a contributing factor to the crash.
