Trump Undermines His Own Campaign While Harris Can Only Chuckle

Trump is undermining his own campaign. Harris can simply observe and enjoy.

Trump is single-handedly losing this election with a series of media blunders. Harris should take a step back as her rival’s campaign crumbles.

Watching former President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign fall apart is quite entertaining, especially as his supporters react to Vice President Kamala Harris gaining popularity.

Indeed, I use the term “popularity” because it appears to be what irritates Trump the most—when someone else is in the spotlight, eclipsing him.

Since President Joe Biden exited the race on July 21, Harris has captivated audiences worldwide with her joy and laughter. Her popularity has surged in the polls, she has reached record-breaking fundraising figures, and has garnered support from leaders across both parties.

What is behind the Democratic presidential nominee’s appeal? It seems that America is yearning for a fresh perspective, and anyone would be preferable to Trump.

I anticipated last week’s CNN interview featuring Harris and her running mate Tim Walz to be filled with positivity and joy, and it truly was—though somewhat cautious. However, she doesn’t need to put on a performance to secure victory in this election.

Harris responds to Trump’s racist remark with poise

As a Black and South Asian woman, Harris must navigate the delicate balance between being seen as passionate and being labeled as angry. One of the standout moments of the interview was her response to Trump’s racist remark about her “suddenly turning Black.”

Harris replied smoothly, “Same old, tired playbook. Next question, please.”

This is accurate; Trump’s tactic of race baiting and his divisive rhetoric has worn thin. The American public is beyond it.

Some critics argue that Harris hasn’t held a formal press conference to address her candidacy alone. However, at this point in her campaign, she doesn’t need to be in front of the press to connect with voters.

Trump is effectively sabotaging his own campaign. With numerous media blunders from his comments during the first presidential debate about Black jobs to the Arlington National Cemetery fiasco, he has shown that he can lose this election without any assistance from his opponent.

The communication strategy that Harris’ team is implementing is yielding positive results. They are tactically riding the blue wave without engaging in unnecessary risks.

A poll conducted after the Democratic National Convention indicates that this approach is paying off, as Harris’s lead over Trump is expanding.

Expect Harris to remain composed in the debate with Trump

On Tuesday, we’ll witness the eagerly awaited presidential debate between Harris and Trump. I expect her to remain composed and mild; she doesn’t need to provoke Trump to make her point.

As you watch their interaction on the debate stage and during the remaining weeks of the campaign, remember that the next president must make sound decisions impacting all Americans. They should engage with people who may disagree, doing so without causing chaos.

The next president will also need to nominate leaders whose ethics can be depended upon and who prioritize loyalty to our nation and Constitution over political affiliations.

Though our values as Americans may not consistently align, our shared love for our country should bring us together for the collective good. Together, we can realize the American dream.
