Michigan and Notre Dame Suffer Significant Drops in US LBM Coaches Poll Following Week 2

 

 

After Week 2, Michigan and Notre Dame Drop Significantly in US LBM Coaches Poll


This week’s college football games resulted in notable shifts in the top 10 of the updated US LBM Coaches Poll. However, the top six teams remain unchanged.

 

Georgia holds onto its No. 1 ranking, earning 50 of the 54 first-place votes given this week. Ohio State stays strong at No. 2 with three first-place votes, while Texas at No. 3 received the last first-place mention. Alabama, Mississippi, and Oregon maintain their positions in the following three spots.

Changes start at No. 7 where Notre Dame has dropped significantly to No. 19 after their loss against Northern Illinois. Michigan has also fallen, dropping eight places to No. 17 due to a significant home defeat by Texas.

 

Penn State advances to No. 7, finishing just ahead of Missouri in the polls. Tennessee and Utah complete the top 10, while Southern California rises three spots to No. 11.

 

Three new teams enter the rankings, led by Iowa State at No. 23. Nebraska at No. 24 and Memphis at No. 25 also join the list. Meanwhile, Iowa, North Carolina State, and Kansas have dropped out of the poll.
