Donald Trump to be at Alabama vs. Georgia college football game in September
The matchup between Alabama and Georgia is one of the highlights of college football, and this year, it will feature a former president in the audience.
Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for presidency, will be present at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on September 28, to witness the clash between the Crimson Tide and the Bulldogs. This information was shared with Tuscaloosa News by a source familiar with Trump’s campaign itinerary, which is part of the YSL News Network.
While serving as President, Trump was a frequent attendee of various sports events. He has been spotted at notable occasions such as the Army-Navy game, the College Football Playoff national championship, and the World Series. Recently, he attended the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race and is often seen at UFC matches.
Besides attending the national championship game in 2018, Trump has also been to Alabama’s home games before. A notable visit was in 2019 when he watched a high-profile game against LSU in Tuscaloosa. He received cheers from the crowd when featured on the stadium’s jumbotron, marking the first instance a sitting president attended an Alabama football game at home.
This past Sunday, there was a reported assassination attempt against Trump at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. Fortunately, the suspect, who did not fire a weapon, was apprehended, and Trump was unharmed.
John Wahl, chair of the Alabama Republican Party, expressed to Tuscaloosa News that he is uncertain if this incident will affect Trump’s planned attendance but is “extremely excited” about the prospect of the former president being at the game.
“Alabama folks have a unique bond with Donald Trump, and the Republican Party is always thrilled to have him visit our state,” Wahl stated.
Both teams, Alabama and Georgia, will enjoy a break this week prior to their eagerly awaited matchup.
