Coca-Cola Spiced is discontinued less than a year after its introduction


Coca-Cola announced on Tuesday that it will be removing a product from its lineup faster than it takes for a soda to lose its fizz.

 

The Atlanta-based beverage company revealed to YSL News that Coca-Cola Spiced will be taken off the market.

This drink, which was initially part of the brand’s permanent offerings, will be removed from store shelves only seven months after its debut.

“We constantly evaluate customer preferences and adjust our product range accordingly,” a spokesperson mentioned in the announcement. “As part of this approach, we plan to discontinue Coca-Cola Spiced to make way for an exciting new flavor in 2025.”

 

The beverage was launched in February and is still featured on the company’s website as of Tuesday.

Coca-Cola’s attempt to attract Gen-Z is shelved

Coca-Cola Spiced aimed to capture the interest of younger consumers.

The North American marketing chief, Shakir Moin, stated when the drink was introduced that it was created in just seven weeks, a significant reduction from the typical 12 months or more for new products. He added that the company is “disrupting” its internal processes to better align with customer needs.

 

YSL News reported that the initial tasting notes described the drink as having “(a) raspberry flavor that stands out while the spices are barely noticeable in the first few sips. You need to concentrate on every sip to catch the spicy undertones.”

 

Marketing Vice President, Sue Lynne Cha, indicated via email to YSL News that the product was a response to emerging trends in the industry when it was launched.
