Trump to Return to Pennsylvania for Campaign Event After Assassination Attempt

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, Donald Trump’s campaign announced that he will hold a campaign rally on October 5 in Butler, Pennsylvania. This location is significant as it was the site of the first assassination attempt on the 2024 Republican presidential candidate in mid-July.

“President Trump’s visit to Butler will be his first since the attack when he was nearly shot on July 13th, an event many view as a miraculous escape,” the campaign stated in their announcement.

The rally will take place at Butler Farm Show, Inc., which is the same venue where the attack occurred just under three months ago, according to the campaign.

Trump has expressed a desire to return to Butler to complete the rally that was abruptly halted by the shooter. This event comes after a second assassination attempt occurred earlier this month at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Additionally, the Trump campaign reported that U.S. intelligence officials have alerted them to a potential plot by Iran to assassinate him.

At recent campaign stops, Trump has spoken about the threats to his life, including in a Monday economic address in North Carolina, where he hinted at Iranian involvement in the assassination attempts. However, no evidence has supported this assertion.

In their statement on Wednesday, the campaign mentioned that Trump plans to honor the memory of supporter Corey Comperatore, who died while protecting his wife and daughters from gunfire during the attack.

Trump will also pay tribute to supporters David Dutch and James Copenhaver, who were injured in the incident.

“After facing two life-threatening attacks in just over two months, President Trump is more determined than ever to continue his mission,” the campaign declared.
