Foo Fighters have canceled their appearance at a music festival just days before the event, following controversy involving their lead singer, Dave Grohl. Grohl recently revealed that he has a child from a relationship outside of his 21-year marriage.

On Thursday, the rock band issued a brief statement announcing they would “no longer be appearing” at the Soundside Music Festival in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where they were scheduled to perform this weekend.

The band asked fans to visit the festival’s website for further updates but did not disclose the reason for their cancellation.

A spokesperson for Foo Fighters chose not to make any additional comments.

The band was slated to headline the festival on Sunday, which announced on X that Jack White and Greta Van Fleet would take their place. “Unfortunately, Foo Fighters have announced they’re no longer performing this weekend,” the festival stated.

Other artists scheduled to perform at the Soundside Music Festival include Noah Kahan, Boyz II Men, Bleachers, Norah Jones, and Teddy Swims, with the event starting this Saturday.

This abrupt withdrawal by Foo Fighters comes shortly after Grohl disclosed, in a statement made on September 10, that he has “recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.”

Grohl has been married to Jordyn Blum since 2003, and they have three daughters, aged 10 to 18. In his statement, he expressed his intention to be a “loving and supportive parent” to the newborn daughter.

“I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness,” he stated. “We appreciate your respect for all the children involved as we navigate this transition together.”

Foo Fighters completed their Everything or Nothing at All Tour last month and currently do not have any upcoming concerts scheduled on their website.
