Wine, Chocolate, and More: Uniworld Introduces Its First Women-Only River Cruise in France

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is set to debut its first-ever women-only voyage through southern France next year, featuring indulgences like truffles, chocolate, and fine wine.

Targeting mainly older children and adults, the upscale river cruise line announced its 2025 offerings this week, which includes the new “Women-Only Cruise.” This eight-day journey will take guests through Burgundy and Provence, crafted by a dedicated team of female staff members, as noted on Uniworld’s website. Currently, one sailing is planned for August 25, 2025, with rates starting at $4,999 per person.

“Our customers are increasingly seeking specialized and unique experiences, which has motivated us to create a variety of themed cruises for 2025,” stated Uniworld’s President and CEO, Ellen Bettridge, in a press release.

On this eight-day expedition, travelers will embark from Arles, navigating the Rhône and Saône rivers. They will immerse themselves in the local culinary scene and wander through picturesque villages that once inspired artists like Van Gogh, Cézanne, and Gauguin. Activities will include truffle hunting, biking, lavender weaving, and burlesque performances, concluding the adventure in the lively city of Lyon.

“Invite your mothers, sisters, adult daughters, best friends, or any significant women in your life, or embark on a solo journey to forge new friendships while enjoying a week filled with exploration, connection, immersion, relaxation, and joy,” the website encourages.

The announcement mentions that details regarding parties, special guests, and exclusive brand collaborations will be revealed later.

Another addition for 2025 is a music-themed cruise titled “Music of the Danube,” which will feature a yodeling workshop and a “Sound of Music” tour in Salzburg. Additionally, there is a new Premium Golf Package available for the “Brilliant Bordeaux” itinerary, including 18-hole rounds at Cabot Bordeaux and St. Emilion, along with shared caddy service and gourmet dining experiences.

“From our first-ever women-exclusive cruise to luxurious, all-inclusive golf packages, we are broadening our offerings to cater to diverse interests, hobbies, and communities, while still being dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences that surpass our guests’ expectations,” Bettridge remarked.

Returning specialty cruises for next year include the “Generations Collection” for families, “Jewish Heritage Sailings,” and “Out on the Rivers” for the LGBTQ+ community.
