Watch a Heartwarming Moment as a 3-Month-Old Baby Taps Out Her Emotional Airman Uncle at Their First Meeting

At Kobi May’s Air Force graduation, a touching encounter took place between him and his little niece during their very first meeting. This special moment unfolded at his tap-out ceremony held at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where he struggled to contain his emotions.

Darcy May made her entrance into the world just a day after Kobi commenced his basic training. He was disheartened to have missed her birth but expressed his feelings by writing her a heartfelt letter.

“The letter was truly beautiful,” commented Katy May, Darcy’s mother. “We had all been eagerly looking forward to the moment Kobi would meet Darcy for the first time.”

The big moment arrived during the coin ceremony, which symbolized Kobi’s shift from trainee to Airman status. Darcy was brought in by her grandmother, and she had the special privilege of tapping out her uncle.

“We were all overwhelmed with emotions,” Katy recalled. “It was a mix of joy, nervousness, and immense pride for our family’s newest Airman. Just seeing them together was a dream come true. That moment was incredibly precious and will stay with me forever.”
