Now’s an ideal time to kick off your holiday shopping, as significant discounts are available at sales events from Amazon, Walmart, Kohl’s, and Target.
Attention shoppers! This Sunday signals the beginning of a significant holiday shopping period, featuring major sales from leading retailers.
Many of the largest retailers are rolling out their fall pre-holiday sales this week. Target kicks off the festivities with its week-long Target Circle Week, followed by Kohl’s with its 3 Days of Deals starting on Monday.
On Tuesday, two giants of retail—Amazon and Walmart—join the sales frenzy, with Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days and Walmart’s Holiday Deals event.
A recent Circana survey shows more shoppers intend to take part in fall promotional events this year than in the previous two years. While 19% believe they’ll find the best deals during these fall sales, an even larger 24% feel Black Friday offers superior savings.

Target Circle Week
Dates: October 6-12 Details: To benefit from the week-long sale, which lasts until Saturday, October 12, you must be a member of Target Circle, the retailer’s free loyalty program. Sign-up is available on Target.com and the Target app. Target Circle credit cardholders receive 5% off purchases, alongside free two-day shipping on select items and extended return periods.
During this event, Target Circle members can enjoy discounts on a range of items including clothing, bedding, bath products, home appliances, luggage, and of course, toys. For toy purchases, spending $40 earns a $10 discount, while spending $75 results in a $20 discount. Target has also unveiled its Bullseye’s Top Toys List featuring top recommendations for the holiday season.
Other significant deals include up to 50% off select kitchen items from brands like Cuisinart and Instant Pot, plus up to 40% off vacuum cleaners from Bissell and Shark.
Kohl’s 3 Days of Deals
Dates: Monday, October 7, to Wednesday, October 9.
Details: This event, available in stores and on Kohls.com through Wednesday, showcases discounts and daily offers across numerous categories including toys, tech gadgets, kitchen appliances, home décor, fall clothing including denim and outerwear, footwear, baby items, beauty products, and accessories. Additionally, Kohl’s released its Top Holiday Toys of 2024 list in September.
Kohl’s Rewards members will receive exclusive deals throughout this sale. For every $100 spent, members earn a $15 Reward or a $20 Reward if they pay using a Kohl’s Card. Moreover, loyalty members can receive $10 off every $50 spent on home goods and $10 off $50 or $25 off $100 on toys, puzzles, and games.
All shoppers can access a 25% off code and coupon for applicable items during this sale on Kohls.com and through the retailer’s social media platforms.
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days
Dates: Tuesday, October 8, and Wednesday, October 9.
Details: Participation in Amazon’s sales event requires a membership to its Amazon Prime subscription service ($139 yearly, with a free 30-day trial option). The event starts on Tuesday, October 8, at 3:01 a.m. ET / 12:01 a.m. PT and concludes on Thursday, October 10, at 2:59 a.m. ET and 11:59 p.m. PT on October 9.
There will be deals across all product categories including clothing, toys, and significant discounts on top brands such as Barbie, Disney, Dyson, LEGO, New Balance, and premium beauty labels like Clinique and Kiehl’s. You’ll also find exclusive items from brands like Beats, Casper, and Conair.
Walmart Holiday Deals
Dates: October 8-13
Details: Walmart’s Holiday Deals feature significant savings on toys, electronics, and additional categories including home goods and fashion. Highlights include a $300 discount on a refrigerator, $100 off a gaming laptop, and $20 savings on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Pizza Fire Delivery Van ($29).
Members subscribed to Walmart+ (30-day free trial available, then $12.95 monthly or $98 annually) receive a 12-hour early access to these deals starting at midnight Tuesday on Walmart.com and the Walmart app. The general public can start accessing deals online at noon Tuesday, and in-store shoppers can benefit from these offers when locations open on Wednesday, October 9.
