Dodgers vs. Padres live score updates: Turmoil for LA, tension in NLDS Game 3

The National League Division Series moves to San Diego after the Dodgers and Padres each claimed a win in their first two games held in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers snagged Game 1 on Saturday, while the Padres quickly rebounded on Sunday with an impressive victory that included some chaotic moments, as fans at the game hurled objects onto the field.

Padres reliever Jeremiah Estrada commented to reporters on Monday, stating, “If I were the baseball commissioner, I wouldn’t even consider allowing a Game 5 at their stadium. Why risk a repeat of that incident?” referring to the bottles, cans, and baseballs thrown onto the field and bullpen.

Stay tuned for live updates throughout Tuesday:

Dodgers respond with Teoscar Hernández grand slam

Incredible turn of events! After a disastrous second inning that left the Dodgers trailing 6-1, Los Angeles answered back with a grand slam from Teoscar Hernández to deep center off Padres pitcher Michael King, closing the gap to a 6-5 game.

Expect this game to see more shifts in momentum.

Fernando Tatis Jr. hits home run, extending Padres lead to 6-1

Once again, it’s Fernando Tatis Jr. who makes a mark, smashing a two-run homer to left field during the second inning, adding to a tough inning for the Dodgers and pitcher Walker Buehler.

This marks Tatis Jr.’s fourth home run in five postseason games.

Padres take 4-1 lead, capitalizing on Dodgers errors

Things unraveled for Buehler in the second inning started with a single, which was compounded by two fielder’s choices and an error by Freddie Freeman that allowed the Padres to even the score. With runners on first and third base, David Peralta hit a double down the right field line, driving in two runs to put the Padres ahead 3-1.

A subsequent single advanced Peralta to third base, leading to Kyle Higashioka’s sacrifice fly, which brought in the Padres’ fourth run, marking the first out of the inning.

Mookie Betts home run gives Dodgers early lead

Mookie Betts ignited the excitement in Game 3 with a solo home run off Padres starter Michael King in the first inning, just slipping past Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar’s grasp.

Betts had been struggling in the postseason, with a batting average of just .068 (3 for 44) over his last 12 playoff games going back to the 2021 NLCS.

This home run mirrored a much-debated play from Game 2, where Profar leaped into the stands to rob Betts of a home run and celebrated in front of the fans.

When do the Dodgers face the Padres?

The game at Petco Park is set to start at 9:08 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
