Tragic Loss: TikTok Creator Taylor Rousseau Grigg Passes Away Due to Rare Illness

TikTok influencer Taylor Rousseau Grigg passes away due to a rare chronic illness: Report

The family of TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg has disclosed the reason for her untimely death at the age of 25.

Taylor, who amassed 1.5 million followers on TikTok, passed away due to complications associated with asthma and Addison’s disease, as confirmed by a spokesperson to TODAY.com.

She reportedly died on October 4. Her husband, Cameron, expressed his sorrow in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“No one anticipates experiencing such profound pain and heartache, especially at our young age. Over the past year, Taylor endured more suffering than most encounter in a lifetime,” he shared about his beloved wife. “Despite everything, she radiated light and joy to everyone around her.”

Describing Taylor as “courageous and resilient,” he mentioned, “Her trust in the Lord surpassed any obstacles she faced, even during her darkest moments. I believe she saved my life and countless others.”

In August, the couple shared a video celebrating their first anniversary.

Understanding Addison’s Disease

As per the Cleveland Clinic, Addison’s disease is a rare chronic disorder where the adrenal glands fail to produce adequate amounts of the hormones cortisol and aldosterone.

Symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhea, muscle discomfort, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, skin discoloration, and low blood pressure, according to the medical center. This condition typically affects individuals aged between 30 and 50. It is believed to affect about one in 100,000 people.

In a conversation with Newsweek, a woman named Laura Bates shared her journey with Addison’s disease following Taylor’s passing. Bates has been living with the condition since the early 2000s.

“My main symptoms included extreme fatigue, weakness, unintended weight loss, thirst, a desire for salt, dizziness, and low blood pressure,” Bates recounted. “Eventually, I noticed patches of discolored skin, particularly on my legs – this is referred to as ‘the Addison’s tan.'”

Earlier this summer, Taylor provided a health update to her followers. In the video, she expressed her relief at being authentic and at peace with her family. She also addressed comments about how she appeared to have “the life” drained out of her.

“I feel like I’m battling for my life each day. When I was uncertain of what was wrong, I spent days in bed, in agony, wishing for it all to end,” Taylor said, visibly upset. “I don’t feel that way anymore, but I still feel like each day is a struggle to stay alive. It’s incredibly tough.”

Cameron Initiates GoFundMe

In his statement, Cameron also started a GoFundMe campaign. He noted that Taylor frequently visited the hospital during their marriage and that they were without insurance. He added that her organs are being donated.

“With heavy hearts, we announce Taylor’s passing, knowing she has now spread her wings. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her,” read the caption.

As of Friday afternoon, nearly $52,000 has been raised, with a target of $100,000.

The GoFundMe page mentions that the family is planning to host a benefit in her honor to celebrate her life.
