Live Score Updates: Dodgers vs. Mets in NLCS Game 2 – Exciting Moments in the MLB Playoffs
LOS ANGELES — Following a lopsided victory in the opener, the National League Championship Series progresses with Game 2 featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers taking on the New York Mets this Monday.
Game 1, held on Sunday night, was a one-sided affair where the top-seeded NL team, the Dodgers, struck early against Mets pitcher Kodai Senga in the opening inning, leaving New York unable to recover. The Dodgers finished with nine runs, while their pitching lineup, led by Jack Flaherty, achieved their third straight shutout of the playoffs.
Down 1-0 in the series, the Mets are counting on pitcher Sean Manaea, who delivered an impressive performance in Game 3 of the NL Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Meanwhile, the Dodgers will utilize a bullpen strategy starting with Ryan Brasier, a tactic they executed flawlessly back in Game 4 of the NLDS when facing elimination.
Stay tuned for the latest updates from Monday’s matchup:
Dodgers Score Two: Mets Leading 6-3 in the Sixth
LOS ANGELES.— Tommy Edman powered through with a ground ball that slipped just past Pete Alonso’s reach, allowing Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernandez to score from a loaded bases situation after Phil Maton replaced Sean Manaea.
The Dodgers managed to load the bases once again after a walk from Max Muncy, but Maton managed to induce Kiké Hernández to hit into a double play, minimizing the scoring impact. As the teams head into the seventh, the Mets hold a 6-3 lead.
Sean Manaea Exits in the Sixth
LOS ANGELES — Sean Manaea had an outstanding performance but will leave the game in a challenging situation.
Despite allowing only one run in five innings, Manaea began the sixth inning with consecutive walks to Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernandez. Then, Freddie Freeman, battling a significant ankle injury, hit a grounder to second, but Jose Iglesias failed to handle it cleanly, resulting in the bases being loaded.
Phil Maton has taken over pitching duties from Manaea.
Unexpected Visitor: A Snake in the Dodgers Dugout!
LOS ANGELES — Something unusual happened in the Dodgers’ dugout!
As the Dodgers were leaving the field in the fifth inning, pitcher Brent Honeywell spotted something on the stairs. A camera then caught a small snake crawling around the Dodgers’ dugout area.
A member of the team quickly grabbed the snake with a towel to remove it from the area.
Max Muncy Hits a Home Run for the Dodgers
LOS ANGELES — Finally, the Dodgers are on the scoreboard! Max Muncy hit a home run to right field, bringing the game to a 6-1 score after the fifth inning.
This was only the second hit allowed by Manaea, who has achieved seven strikeouts during the game.
Sean Manaea Dominating Against the Dodgers
LOS ANGELES — Previously, Sean Manaea had struggled when facing the Dodgers, but he has been impressive in this game.
The left-handed Mets pitcher has recorded six strikeouts through the first three innings and allowed just one hit. He managed to strike out Shohei Ohtani two times and completely retired the side in the third inning.

Landon Knack allowed the grand slam after stepping in to pitch at the start of the second inning.
Francisco Lindor Starts Game 2 with a Home Run
With the very first pitch of Game 2, Francisco Lindor of the Mets ended the Dodgers’ record-equalling 33-inning scoreless stretch by hitting a solo home run to right field off Ryan Brasier.

Review of the Dodgers’ ‘Pitching Clinic’ in Game 1
LOS ANGELES — Jack Flaherty, born and raised in Los Angeles, took to the mound at Dodger Stadium .
As a high school student, he had aspirations of one day playing for the Dodgers.
However, even in his most vivid dreams, he could never have imagined a night like this.
Flaherty delivered one of the most impressive pitching performances in postseason history for the Dodgers, allowing only two hits across seven scoreless innings. His dominant effort propelled the Dodgers to a 9-0 victory over the New York Mets in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series at Dodger Stadium on Sunday night.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts described it as, “just a pitching clinic.”
