This year’s pricing is cheaper than the store’s offers from 2019,
ALDI recently announced that it will offer ingredients for Thanksgiving dinner at a record low price of $47, marking its cheapest rate in five years.
With ALDI’s Thanksgiving bundle in 2024, customers can serve 10 people for less than $47, averaging under $4.70 per person, which is a decrease compared to pricing from 2019.
This pricing is effective from Wednesday, October 16, through Wednesday, November 27. This year, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 28.
The Thanksgiving shopping list from ALDI includes a 16-pound Butterball turkey accompanied by spices, gravy, rolls, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, along with ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, and pumpkin pie.
The company noted, “With reports indicating that grocery prices have surged by 50% across various items since 2019, shoppers will find great relief on their favorite Thanksgiving foods at ALDI,” as stated in their press release.

With 25% of U.S. households now shopping at ALDI, we understand how important grocery costs are for our customers. We have put in significant effort to offer the best value and quality so that everyone can enjoy a traditional meal with loved ones without needing to make compromises.”
The company also plans to open an additional 800 stores over the next five years.
USDA predicts price increases for vegetables, poultry, beef, and veal
The Economic Research Service, a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, stated that while U.S. food prices are projected to continue decreasing in 2024, some increases are anticipated in the upcoming years.
This forecast was included in the agency’s Food Price Outlook for 2024 and 2025, which assesses inflation across the economy.
The agency’s website received updates in late September indicating that food prices are expected to rise in 2025, but the increases will be gradual relative to historical averages.
Specifically, food prices for home consumption are expected to rise by 0.8%, while dining away from home may see a 3.1% increase next year.
Among specific food categories, the following price changes are expected:
- Fish and seafood prices are likely to drop by 1.6% in 2024
- Cereal and bakery product prices are expected to see a rise of 0.4% in 2024
- Fresh vegetable prices are projected to increase by 0.6% in 2024
- Poultry prices are likely to rise by 1.2% in 2024
- Egg prices are anticipated to increase by 4.9% in 2024
- Beef and veal prices are expected to increase by 5.2% in 2024
