Liam Payne’s former girlfriend is honoring the singer and sharing a heartfelt message she received from him just weeks before he tragically passed away.

Danielle Peazer, a dancer who was in a relationship with Payne from 2010 to 2013, remembered the late One Direction member on Instagram following his death in Argentina, where he fell from a hotel balcony. He was just 31 years old.

Peazer reflected on their relationship, noting that even though it ended over ten years ago, “it felt like just the beginning of our story,” affirming that “deep down, we always believed we would remain connected forever, regardless of the paths our lives took.”

She shared a message from Payne “a few weeks ago,” where he conveyed his joy for her happiness with her partner Sonny Jay and their daughter Mia. “This is something I will always hold dear,” Peazer expressed.

Peazer noted that although she was “aware” of Payne’s “struggles over the years,” she had “always hoped and prayed that today would never come.”

In her touching post, she mentioned that it took “a bit longer for you to discover the person you wanted to be to find true happiness” because “while most of us have our teenage years and twenties to understand ourselves, you spent that time giving so much to others.”

She expressed a wish that he had realized “you were always more than sufficient for this world without needing to find a role to satisfy others.” Peazer concluded her heartfelt tribute by saying, “I’m sorry your story didn’t have a different ending, and I’m sorry you didn’t get to share more of your brilliance with the world. Rest in peace, my friend.”

Payne had previously shared his challenges with addiction. Authorities in Argentina reported being called to his hotel for an “aggressive man who might be under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”

In the days following his passing, many tributes from loved ones have surfaced, including a joint statement from his former One Direction bandmates. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson expressed their collective devastation over the news of Liam’s death.

Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy also expressed her grief on her Instagram story, stating that she feels “totally lost” at the moment.

“Everything about the last few days feels surreal,” Cassidy wrote. “I pray for patience and space to process this privately.”
