The injury occurred when Godwin was hit by Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith with under a minute remaining in the game. ESPN opted not to replay the incident. Following a brief commercial break, viewers saw Godwin being transported on a cart with his left leg secured in an air cast.

This injury is a significant setback for the Buccaneers, who also lost fellow receiver Mike Evans to a hamstring problem earlier in the game.

After the match, head coach Todd Bowles informed the media that Godwin has a dislocated ankle and will be sidelined for an indefinite period.
