Kristin Cavallari Opens Up About Ex-Husband Jay Cutler’s Recent DUI Incident

Kristin Cavallari speaks out about ex-husband Jay Cutler’s DUI arrest

Kristin Cavallari has finally opened up regarding the DUI arrest of her ex-husband Jay Cutler.

The star of “Very Cavallari,” aged 37, shared her thoughts on a recent episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Honest,” following Cutler’s arrest for DUI and gun possession in Tennessee last Thursday.

At the beginning of the episode, Cavallari mentioned that the show was recorded prior to the “very public incident” involving her ex-husband, which she then briefly touched upon.

“I genuinely wish Jay all the best, and I hope he finds the help he needs,” she stated. “But that will be the extent of my public comments on this matter.”

Cutler, a former NFL quarterback, was apprehended in Tennessee following a “minor traffic incident.” According to the police, he exhibited a strong odor of alcohol, struggled with slurred speech, and had two handguns located in his vehicle. He faces charges for DUI, failure to take precautions to avoid the collision, violating implied consent laws, and possessing a firearm while intoxicated.

Kristin and Jay got married in 2013, but they announced their separation in 2020. They have three children together. Cutler appeared on his then-wife’s E! reality show “Very Cavallari,” which aired from 2018 to 2020.

Earlier this year, during a podcast episode, Cavallari revealed she lost a lot of weight while filming “Very Cavallari” because of the stress from her marriage.

“To give you some perspective,” she noted at the time. “I’m 5’3″ and weigh 114 pounds. During the filming of ‘Very Cavallari,’ I dropped to 102 pounds while eating the same amount of food as now. The difference was my unhappiness and stress.”

“I looked like a skeleton,” she reflected. “I feel much better now. It was just stress from being in a really unhappy marriage.” She was very candid about her struggles.

When she revealed their separation, Cavallari described it as “two people drifting apart.” She mentioned, “With a heavy heart, after a decade together, we have decided to part ways amicably. We hold nothing but love and appreciation for each other and are grateful for our shared years, unforgettable memories, and our wonderful children.”

This year, Cavallari made headlines when she announced her relationship with 24-year-old Mark Estes, facing backlash due to their significant age difference. In September, she shared that she had broken up with him and later explained on her podcast that it was due to feelings surrounding their age gap and differing life experiences.

“Reflecting on my life at 24, so much changed for me during that period; those are critical years,” she said. “Those years are essential for self-discovery, and he needs to experience that as well.”

During the podcast segment recorded before Cutler’s arrest, Cavallari spoke about breakups, revealing that she felt her “heart broke” with the end of her marriage.

“Even though I initiated the end, it wasn’t how I envisioned things,” she expressed. “I tried absolutely everything I could. It’s painful when you desire something so intensely, but it’s just out of reach. I would say my heart was broken for years during my marriage.”

Cavallari recalled that prior to the divorce, she felt constant tension but said, “As soon as I got out, that went away.”

However, she assured listeners that she and Cutler are now in a good place, stating, “It took about four years, but we are in the best position we’ve ever been.” She added, “If I can assure you that Jay and I made it through, anyone can.”
