Just a week after Liam Payne’s tragic passing, his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has opened up about their intentions to marry.

On Wednesday, the social media personality shared a series of pictures of them together on Instagram, accompanied by a touching letter dedicated to her deceased boyfriend. Liam Payne died on October 16 after an accident involving a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In her post, she included a note from Payne, mentioning that “a few weeks prior, we sat outside on a lovely evening, envisioning our future together. I keep your note close, despite your instruction to not look at it.”

“It said, ‘Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.’ Liam, I believe we will always be together, but not in the anticipated way. You will forever be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel,” she expressed.

The former One Direction member passed away at the age of 31. On the day of his death, the hotel manager at Casa Sur in Argentina reached out to emergency services, describing a “conscious” guest “under the influence of drugs and alcohol,” and “causing a mess in the room,” according to a report by Reuters from October 17.

Cassidy began her heartfelt tribute by stating: “I find it hard to express where to start. My heart is shattered in ways that words can’t convey. I wish you could witness the immense impact you’ve made on the world, even in this dark moment. You’ve brought joy and positivity to countless people, including your millions of fans, your family, friends, and most importantly, me.”

“You are deeply loved,” Cassidy stated in her note, promising to love Payne “for the rest of my life and beyond, taking our dreams and memories with me wherever I go.”

Cassidy had previously shared her grief over Payne’s passing in an Instagram post on October 18, just days after his death.

“I’ve been completely numb. The last few days feel surreal,” she wrote in her Instagram Story at the time. “I hope you can grant me the grace and privacy to cope with this loss.”

She also expressed in her Instagram Story: “Liam, my angel. You mean everything to me. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for my entire life. Love you eternally, Liam.”

The influencer, who has over 700,000 followers on Instagram, and the “Strip That Down” artist went public with their romance in 2022. Cassidy shared a picture from their red carpet appearance at the British Fashion Awards that December, describing the night as “amazing” with Payne looking at her with affection.

In a TikTok she posted last month, Cassidy narrated how she met Payne. She mentioned that they first crossed paths when she was 23 years old and working at Ritual Nightclub in Charleston, South Carolina, where she served him.

She remarked, “Everything happens for a reason; don’t skip work to go to a party because you might just end up meeting your future spouse.”
