Passenger on Abu Dhabi-Boston Flight Faces Allegations of Indecent Exposure

Passenger on a Flight from Abu Dhabi to Boston Accused of Indecency

A man was taken into custody on Monday for allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior, including “masturbating and exposing himself,” during a flight from Abu Dhabi to Boston, federal officials reported.

Krishna Kunapuli, a 39-year-old from India, faces a charge of lewd and obscene acts according to records from the District of Massachusetts court.

YSL News attempted to reach Kunapuli’s public defender for comment on Tuesday, but no response has been received.

The charging documents indicate that Kunapuli made unwelcome sexual advances toward a female passenger on the Etihad Airlines flight. He reportedly touched her hair, complimented her beauty, took pictures without her consent, and asked if she would spend the night with him in Boston, as detailed in the criminal complaint.

Kunapuli’s behavior allegedly persisted until a crew member stepped in, instructing him to return to his window seat, the documents explained.

Following the crew member’s intervention, two male passengers nearby reportedly saw Kunapuli masturbating under a blanket, occasionally with his genitals visible. One of the passengers informed a flight attendant, who subsequently alerted law enforcement as stated in the court document.

When approached by the flight attendant, Kunapuli was found with his pants unzipped and actively engaging in the inappropriate act, according to the complaint. Upon being confronted, he zipped his pants and apologized, according to the court records.

After being removed from the flight, Kunapuli cooperated with investigators and admitted to his actions on the plane, as detailed in the charging documents.

The Justice Department noted that Kunapuli could face a sentence of up to 90 days in jail, a $5,000 fine, and one year of supervised release as a result of the charges.
