Miami Heat pays tribute to 3-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade with a statue outside the arena


The Miami Heat celebrated Dwyane Wade’s return to the Kaseya Center with an emotional statue unveiling on Sunday, cementing his legacy in the franchise.

 

Wade dedicated 15 seasons to Miami, leading the team to three NBA championships in 2006, 2012, and 2013.

As the crowd joined in a countdown, the coverings were removed from his new statue located outside the arena, an unforgettable moment for the 42-year-old.

“This is something I never imagined I would experience,” Wade expressed to the audience. “I never played for this recognition. My goal was to pick up the basketball to improve my family’s life.”

During his illustrious career, the 13-time NBA All-Star started 909 out of 1,054 games and accumulated 23,165 points, shooting an impressive .480 from the field.
