So she decided to organize her own event — fully embracing the spirit of costumes.

Heidi Klum Reflects on Her Favorite Costumes
Klum reminisces about her earlier costumes, despite them being simpler. She cherishes those memories.
“I had a more hands-on approach, creating my looks in a different way. I remember running to a medical supply store to buy a skeleton for one of my early costumes,” she shares. In 2011, she fully embraced the primate theme with a “Planet of the Apes” costume, which she considers one of her favorites. However, it posed some challenges; using the restroom was quite difficult, and by the end of the night, there was a moment of panic when she couldn’t locate the makeup artists to help her remove the prosthetics.Heidi Klum was spotted at her 12th annual Halloween bash, which took place on October 31, 2011, in New York City.
“I’ve gained a lot of experience over the years,” Klum quips.
She also takes pride in the year she embraced turning 90.
“When I hit 40, people started saying, ‘You’re 40 now, when are you going to stop modeling? You should retire,'” Klum recalls. “But I thought, ‘Old? Just watch me!'” To enhance her appearance, she wore contacts that made her eyes look aged.
Not to mention her extravagant multi-person Peacock costume and the time she performed “Thriller” down the street dressed as the werewolf from the iconic music video. “I really cherish all those moments,”
Heidi Klum is known for her elaborate Halloween costumes, and she sticks to a unique rule: she selects her outfit a year ahead of time. Once she makes her choice, she doesn’t waver, even when faced with objections from others.
The Rule for No Last-Minute Costumes
Several individuals opposed the worm costume, yet she remained committed to her choice.
“I pretty much begin the following day after Halloween each year. I really think hard about it,” she explains regarding her process for planning costumes, “Why do people come up with their ideas just two days before? It’s quite challenging.”

“It’ll take a hot minute,” she comments. She intends to begin her preparations around 11 a.m. and aims to be ready by 9 p.m. for the red carpet.
“My kids have watched me their entire lives,” says Klum, referring to her daughter stepping into the modeling world. “They’ve experienced it all and aren’t intimidated by the cameras.”
The advice that she imparted to her daughter emphasizes the importance of having the freedom to say no. Klum believes that while it’s crucial to fulfill commitments once you take on a task, her daughter should understand that at the heart of it all, “If there’s something you don’t want to do, you have every right to decline.”
