Vance labels Harris as ‘trash’ after criticizing her for Biden’s gaffe
JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, harshly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for her recent “garbage” comments and called her “trash.”
While in Atlanta on Monday night, Vance, who is also a senator from Ohio, spoke to his supporters just before Election Day. He took aim at a statement made by Harris’ superior, President Joe Biden, who had referred to supporters of the former President Donald Trump as “garbage” during a video call.
Biden’s comments came as he was denouncing comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who infamously referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage,” during a recent rally for Trump.
Biden remarked, “The only garbage I see floating out there,” sparking debate over whether his comments were aimed at all Trump supporters or just Hinchcliffe.
On Monday, Vance seized upon this incident to criticize Harris instead of Biden.
“Let’s not emulate Kamala Harris’ poor example, because I’m certain everyone here knows someone who plans to vote the wrong way tomorrow,” Vance told the Georgia audience. “In our movement, we embrace every citizen of this nation.”
Vance proceeded to engage in some derogatory remarks of his own.
“In two days, we will clear the trash out of Washington, D.C., and that trash goes by the name of Kamala Harris,” he stated.
Donald Trump, Vance’s running mate, has capitalized on Biden’s misstep, suggesting it reveals what Democrats really think of a significant portion of the American populace. Trump even made a campaign stop riding in a garbage truck while wearing a bright trash collector’s vest.
Trump has been unrelenting in his attacks, frequently dubbing Harris as “low IQ” and referring to his political rivals as “garbage” or “human scum.”
