This week, the classic “Survivor” auction made a comeback for Season 47 contestants.

True to the spirit of the new “Survivor” era on CBS, this auction included a twist. Players had to find hidden tubes filled with varying amounts of cash scattered across the camp. At the auction, host Jeff Probst drew a number from a bag, which decided how many items would be up for bid. The player who ended with the most money would unfortunately lose their voting privileges at tribal council.

The auction, titled “He’s All That,” featured items like macaroni and cheese, French fries paired with a secret advantage, chicken wings, and a grub-eating challenge for a chance to win a breakfast feast.

Sam Phalen entered the individual immunity challenge without a vote after finishing with the highest amount of cash at the auction. Leading up to the challenge, where participants had to hold a bucket weighted at 25% of their body weight on a rope, Probst announced that one male and one female contestant would receive individual immunity necklaces. This left the remaining nine players at risk of elimination.

For the third consecutive episode, Kyle Ostwald emerged victorious amongst the men, while Sue Smey, the oldest contestant this season, won for the women.

As various alliances debated who to vote out, former Gata tribe member Andy Rueda switched sides, abandoning Phalen and Sierra Wright to join the majority’s decision.

At tribal council, Rachel LaMont, also a former Gata tribe member, used her shot in the dark, sacrificing her vote for a chance at immunity, which she did not achieve. The voting resulted in a tie between Phalen and Wright’s elimination.

During a revote, a majority opted to eliminate Wright, making her the first jury member of Season 47, who will have a say in choosing the winner.

In the immunity and reward challenge, contestants were split into two teams, with Probst announcing that only one team would secure safety. The last remaining player on the winning team would gain immunity, while the other team would head to tribal council to vote someone off.

The yellow team, which included Sol Yi, Sam Phalen, Andy Rueda, Teeny Chirichillo, and Genevieve Mushaluk, secured victory. The blue team, which lost, comprised Sue Smey, Rachel LaMont, Gabe Ortis, Caroline Vidmar, Tiyana Hallums, and Kyle Ostwald. Ostwald did earn individual immunity, keeping him safe in the game.

Separated into their respective groups, the blue team prepared for tribal council voting. During the reward, Yi discovered an advantage hidden near food, which he decided to pass on to LaMont, a player not affiliated with the former Lavo tribe and who was a likely target.

This twist at tribal council led to chaos as players scrambled to choose whom to vote out. Ultimately, the majority voted for Tiyana Hallums, a 27-year-old flight attendant from Oahu, Hawaii.
