Engineers Revolutionize CO2 Conversion: Turning Emissions into Valuable Resources

A new electrode design developed at MIT boosts the efficiency of electrochemical reactions that turn carbon dioxide into ethylene and other products. As the world struggles to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, researchers are seeking practical, economical ways to capture carbon dioxide and convert it into useful products, such as transportation fuels, chemical feedstocks, or even

Cooper Flagg’s Point Total: Freshman Achieves Double-Double Despite Cramps

The Duke Blue Devils easily defeated the Army Black Knights, finishing the game with a score of 100-58 on Friday night.

In just his second regular season game, Duke freshman star Cooper Flagg achieved his first double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, along with three assists, three blocks, and two steals during the game.

However, the night wasn’t entirely trouble-free for the newcomer.

At 17 years old, Flagg could only play six minutes in the second half due to cramps. This marked his second consecutive game dealing with cramping in the middle of play. He left the court with 15:39 left in the half and was shown on the broadcast rehydrating and using a massage device on his left leg. Although he briefly returned to the game, he ultimately did not play for the remainder as Duke maintained their solid lead over Army.

Cooper Flagg’s Performance Against Army

Flagg’s impressive stats were largely built in the first half. He came close to achieving a double-double by halftime, accumulating 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and one steal in 19 minutes of action.

Demonstrating his skill set, he made a strong impression with a dunk and hit a three-pointer with 8:27 remaining in the first half, triggering a 22-7 run by the Blue Devils, which helped them secure a 43-20 lead at halftime.

Despite the cramps that limited his play in the second half, Flagg still clinched his first double-double by grabbing two more rebounds before leaving the game.

The issue of cramping will be something to monitor as Flagg continues through the season.

During Duke’s season opener against Maine, Flagg also experienced cramps in the second half. He signaled he was having a cramp before walking to the bench with support from the crowd. He sat out for the rest of that game, which was already out of reach.

Duke improves to 2-0 this season, with their next matchup against Kentucky on Tuesday.
