Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence Faces Potential Season-Ending Shoulder Injury

Report: Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence may be out for the rest of the season due to shoulder injury

The Jacksonville Jaguars are facing the possibility of being without quarterback Trevor Lawrence for more than just this week.

Lawrence has already been ruled out for Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, and he might miss the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury he sustained last week.

According to The Athletic, Lawrence is dealing with a serious AC joint sprain, which may lead to Mac Jones stepping in as the quarterback for the struggling 2-7 Jaguars for the rest of the regular season.

Lawrence injured his left, non-throwing shoulder during last week’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He participated in practice this week but was limited, while Jones took all the snaps with the starting offense.

This season, Lawrence, who was the first overall pick in the 2021 draft, has accumulated 2,004 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

Jones, a fellow first-round pick from 2021, spent his first three seasons with the New England Patriots before joining the Jaguars this offseason. He has played only 16 snaps throughout the current season.
