Is a Knockout Inevitable? Boxers Weigh In on the Tyson vs. Paul Showdown

Can We Expect a KO in Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul? Boxers Share Their Thoughts

Jake Paul appears to be growing weary of the discussions surrounding the fight rules, specifically the two-minute rounds and 14-ounce gloves, set for his match against Mike Tyson this Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

On his X account, Paul shared a post titled “Official rules for #PaulTyson,” asserting, “Someone is getting knocked the (expletive) out. The end.”

In contrast, Tyson has downplayed the notion of a knockout, instead hinting at “a lot of pain” or stating he comes into the fight with “bad intentions” during the scheduled eight rounds.

A knockout victory could help dismiss any criticism regarding the shorter rounds and the heavier gloves, which have been sanctioned for this heavyweight contest, which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Betting odds suggest that Paul is favored over Tyson to deliver a knockout.

On FanDuel, Paul’s odds stand at +110, while on DraftKings, they are +115 for a knockout finish. Tyson, however, is at +290 on FanDuel and +350 on DraftKings.

Betting experts attribute Tyson’s age as a factor for Paul, 27, being seen as the frontrunner to win, either by knockout or decision. However, sportsbooks have noticed a greater amount of money being placed on Tyson, likely due to his extensive fighting background.

Tyson, who is making his first appearance in a professional match since 2005, holds a record of 50-6 with 44 knockouts. Paul has a record of 10-1, with seven knockouts to his name.

The fastest knockout for Tyson was against Marvis Frazier, whom he defeated by TKO just 30 seconds into their bout in 1986. Marvis’s daughter, Tamyra Frazier, had some advice for Paul.

“Pray.”
