Tesla Cybertruck enhancements transform it into a futuristic police vehicle

Tesla modifier Unplugged Performance is balancing its time between racing at Pikes Peak and creating a specialized fleet vehicle division called UP.FIT. This new branch has designed several modifications for the Tesla Cybertruck, aiming to cater to first responders and police agencies that prioritize “the most innovative, safe, and reliable equipment while moving towards a greener future.” Here’s a close look at the newly modified Tesla Cybertruck tailored for police use, seemingly the first of its kind, surpassing Oracle’s earlier concept.

The specific modifications for police use aren’t elaborately detailed in Unplugged’s announcement. Instead, it focuses on custom trucks that can be utilized across various services, including emergency services, search and rescue, military, and police. The police-friendly Cybertruck will come equipped with emergency lights and sirens, a PA system, upgraded communication systems, reinforced UP.FIT wheels, enhanced brakes, and Starlink satellite internet. Additional features include options for prisoner partitions, specialized storage for equipment, and a dedicated K9 unit enclosure.

UP.FIT is also marketing a 2-inch lift kit priced just under $10,000, which appears to be part of the Cybertruck PPV package. Other offerings include a trailer hitch and rear bumper for just below $4,000, a matching front bumper for around $3,000, and various accessories aimed at enhancing usability and off-road performance for these fleet vehicles.

In addition to hardware, UP.FIT is expanding its fleet maintenance services, which include vehicle and system training, installation support for charging stations, and other analytical and consulting services.

According to Unplugged Performance and UP.FIT, the delivery of these modified Cybertrucks designed for police and other specialized purposes is expected to commence later this year. Several law enforcement agencies have already pledged to integrate some of their fleets with the company’s custom Tesla Model Y and Model 3 electric cars, which you can find further details about .
