Burger King is making a special limited-time offer starting Tuesday, allowing customers to purchase Whopper sandwiches for just $1.
The fast-food giant is expressing gratitude to members of its Royal Perks loyalty program for participating in the “Million Dollar Whopper Contest.” This contest allowed customers to redesign their favorite hamburger with personalized toppings for a chance to win $1 million and have their creation featured in Burger King restaurants across the country for a short time.
Over a million passionate Whopper fans submitted their ideal Whopper sandwiches before the submission period ended in March, shortly after the contest was first announced. Starting Thursday, fans can taste and vote on which of the three custom Whopper variants—including Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper, Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper, and Mexican Street Corn Whopper—will become the winning sandwich.
Participating Burger King locations across the country will offer a million discounted Whoppers to Royal Perks members while supplies last, as announced in a news release on Monday.
“What better way to celebrate our most devoted Whopper fans than to offer them a deal that makes everyone feel like a winner?” said Pat O’Toole, a marketing executive at Burger King North America, in the news release. “We’re excited to see how our guests compare these new creations with the classic Whopper and look forward to the announcement of the winner of the $1 million prize.”

How to Claim Burger King’s $1 Whopper
Members of the Royal Perks loyalty program can access the $1 Whopper deal through the Burger King app, specifically in the “offers” section.
This promotion will be available only “while supplies last,” and each customer can redeem one $1 Whopper starting Tuesday. To locate the nearest Burger King or to join the Royal Perks program, head to Burger King’s website.
Burger King Reveals Three Finalists for the ‘Million Dollar Whopper Contest’
Only patrons visiting selected Burger King locations will be able to sample and vote on the three innovative versions of the classic sandwich starting Thursday until supplies run out. Two of the finalists are from California, while the third is from Nebraska, as stated by Burger King.
The three finalists from the “Million Dollar Whopper Contest” are:
- Fried Pickle Ranch Whopper: A quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty topped with creamy pickle ranch sauce, lettuce, fried pickles, crispy bacon, and Swiss cheese, all on a toasted sesame seed bun. This creation was submitted by Fabian from California.
- Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper: A quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty featuring maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions, jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. The idea for this Whopper came from Calvin in California.
- Mexican Street Corn Whopper: A quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty with creamy street corn spread, lettuce, tomato, crunchy tortilla crisps, and spicy queso on a toasted sesame seed bun. This innovative creation was designed by Kelsie from Nebraska.
Customers can cast their votes by scanning a QR code found on the wrapper of each of the three sandwiches, which will lead them to the Burger King app or website for voting. Voting will be available starting at 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday, November 14, and continuing until 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, December 5.
