Patricia Heaton Calls Out Media and ‘Extremists’ for Spreading Fear Ahead of 2024 Elections

Patricia Heaton criticizes media, ‘extremists’ she says ‘fear-mongered’ during 2024 election

Patricia Heaton, known for her role in “The Middle,” has voiced her political views following Donald Trump’s return to the presidency.

The actress, also recognized for her work on “Everybody Loves Raymond,” took to social media on Saturday to criticize the media and various commentators for their portrayal of the 2024 presidential election outcomes.

“To all those extremists getting airtime, scaring women with dire predictions, shame on you! Shame on you!” Heaton expressed in a video on X, referring to the contentious anti-abortion laws that fueled debates. These laws have been termed “Trump abortion bans” by some, including Vice President Kamala Harris, who was Trump’s rival.

Heaton further accused the media of spreading fear: “It seems you are preying on vulnerable individuals, so you should return to the airwaves and reassure them that everything will be alright.”

After Trump secured the presidency, some women protested in various creative ways, including wearing blue bracelets and joining the 4B Movement. In her video, Heaton noted that some women even shaved their heads in reaction to the election results.

“I’ve also noticed numerous response videos, particularly from women who are distressed, crying, and shaving their heads, claiming they might be imprisoned or harmed,” Heaton remarked, referring to these reactions.

Heaton urged her 570,000 followers to “trust in Jesus, who remains constant throughout time. Place your hope in Him, not in people or their systems” and encouraged her audience to “pray for” those distressed women.

Heaton, who identifies as a pro-life supporter, co-founded The October 7 Coalition, a nonprofit aimed at advocating for Christians in solidarity with Jewish communities. She described the election’s outcome as “very favorable for Jewish people,” sharing that she had just returned from a visit to Israel.

Furthermore, she criticized the media for labeling “uneducated voters,” referring to U.S. citizens without a college degree, as a specific voting group.

“Also, stop calling those who voted differently from you ‘uneducated,'” Heaton urged, emphasizing that the media needs to change their approach towards individuals with diverse opinions and valid concerns. “When will you learn to stop classifying them as uneducated?”

Heaton’s remarks come during a particularly tense period in American politics as conservatives celebrate Trump’s presidency while liberals analyze the election results, where Harris lost not only the battleground states but also the overall popular vote.
