A man has been charged after being filmed allegedly throwing dogs over the fence of a humane society in New Jersey. A grand jury has indicted him on multiple animal cruelty charges.

The accused, Jahlil McNeal from Atlantic City, New Jersey, was first arrested during a traffic stop in August, as reported by local news outlet WPVI. Authorities stated that surveillance video captured him allegedly approaching the Humane Society of Atlantic County in the early hours of July 15, according to NBC Philadelphia.

One of the dogs left at the humane society, named Brenda, was said to have distinctive scars on her back, raising concerns among officials about a possible past injury, potentially a burn.

Footage acquired by YSL News reportedly shows McNeal tossing a pit bull mix over the humane society’s fence.

Additionally, McNeal is believed to have thrown three more dogs over the fence back in April. He has been charged with animal cruelty, failing to provide necessary veterinary care for Brenda’s injuries, witness tampering, and theft of services, as per court documents referenced by YSL News.

Fortunately, Brenda is now leading a better life. A Facebook update from July revealed that she was adopted by a family in Texas.

Humane Society officials also mentioned to WPVI that Brenda now goes by the name Snookie.

YSL News has not yet located an attorney for McNeal.
