Taco Bell reintroduces Caramel Apple Empanada after 5 years as part of Decades Menu

First introduced in 2000, this dessert features apple pieces and a creamy caramel filling inside a crispy golden-brown shell. It will be available starting Thursday for $2.99.

Taco Bell is set to revive a classic dessert from the early 21st century.

The popular fast-food chain is bringing back its Caramel Apple Empanada after a five-year break.

This dessert, which was taken off the menu in 2019, will return on Thursday, November 21. It features a deliciously crispy, golden exterior filled with creamy caramel and chunks of apple.

This treat will be part of Taco Bell’s new Decades Menu, which includes five beloved items priced below $3, each representing a different decade from the chain’s 62-year history. The menu also includes classics like the Meximelt, a combination of seasoned beef, pico de gallo, and a three-cheese blend wrapped in a tortilla.

“The Decades Menu is a way to bring together longtime fans who remember these items fondly and a new generation of customers who haven’t yet had the pleasure of trying a traditional Tostada, tasting the iconic Green Sauce Burrito, or enjoying their first bite of a Meximelt,” the company shared in a recent news release.
