Costco Recalls Over 10K Egg Units Due to Possible Salmonella Risk

A recall has been issued for eggs sold across 25 Costco locations in five different states, as stated by the FDA.

Attention Costco shoppers: some eggs are being recalled due to a potential health hazard.

Handsome Brook Farms has voluntarily pulled 10,800 units of Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture Raised eggs from the market because they may carry Salmonella, according to a warning from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The recall notice was released on November 27, with the New York-based company cautioning that the eggs could be contaminated.

The recalled 24-count cartons were made available in 25 Costco outlets in five states starting from November 22, according to the notice.

“The recall was prompted when we discovered that eggs not meant for retail were accidentally packaged and sold to customers,” stated Handsome Brook Farm. “We are implementing extra supply chain measures and conducting retraining to stop this from happening again.”

No illness reports have been received as of November 27, the alert indicated.
