Billie Eilish Speaks Out Against Trump: ‘A Deep-Seated Hatred for Women’

Billie Eilish reacts to Trump’s Election Victory: ‘Someone who has a deep-seated hatred for women’

On the same day Donald Trump was declared the victor in the 2024 presidential election, Billie Eilish took the stage during her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour.

Earlier in the day, the “Birds of a Feather” artist shared a striking message on her Instagram story: “It’s a war on women.” While performing in Nashville, Tennessee, she addressed her audience while seated with her guitar, reflecting on the day’s events.

“Waking up this morning, I couldn’t believe I was doing a show on a day like this,” she shared.

“As the day progressed, I realized how fortunate I am to share this moment with all of you,” Eilish expressed. “I just love you and want you to feel safe and protected here in this space.”

“The next song we’re going to perform is something my brother Finneas and I wrote,” she said, introducing her 2021 track “Your Power.”

“This song addresses the abuse women face, drawn from my own experiences and those of people I know,” she elaborated. “Honestly, I haven’t come across a single woman who doesn’t have a story of abuse.”

“This song touches on things I’ve been through. I’ve been taken advantage of, and my boundaries have been crossed—putting it mildly,” she shared.

“It’s alarming that a convicted, let’s say a convicted predator, someone who harbors a deep-seated hatred of women, is about to become the President of the United States,” Eilish stated. “This song is dedicated to all women. I stand with you and support you.”

While he has not been criminally convicted of sexual assault, Trump was found liable in a civil case regarding sex abuse last year, and he was convicted earlier this year for falsifying business records.

Sitting alongside her background singers in harmony, Eilish performed, “Try not to abuse your power / I know we didn’t choose to change / You may not want to lose your power / But having it feels so strange.”

With passion, she passionately sang, “How dare you? / And how could you? / Will you only feel remorse when it’s revealed? / If you had the choice to go back, would you?”
