Naomi Biden, Joe Biden’s granddaughter, announces her pregnancy on Election Day: ‘We voted’
Naomi Biden, granddaughter of President Joe Biden, announced her pregnancy in a unique way—by showcasing her baby bump on Election Day.
She is looking forward to becoming a mother for the first time alongside her husband, Peter Neal. In a stylish all-black ensemble, Naomi shared a mirror selfie on her Instagram story, gently holding her baby bump.
She captioned the photo with: “(We) voted” along with an American flag emoji and an upside-down smiley face emoji.
Naomi Biden, the eldest child of Hunter Biden, the president’s younger son, and Kathleen Buhle, shares a close bond with her grandfather, whom she lovingly refers to as “Pop.”
YSL News has contacted the First Lady’s office for a statement regarding this announcement.
Naomi and Peter wed on the South Lawn of the White House in November 2022. During the event, Naomi donned a white, high-neck Ralph Lauren gown. In an interview with Vogue after the ceremony, she mentioned that she and First Lady Jill Biden collaborated closely on the wedding planning, noting that the First Lady was “super involved.”
She said, “We are very close with our families, so we always envisioned having a wedding in someone’s backyard. If my Pop were not the president, it would probably have been at their home in Wilmington or possibly at Peter’s family’s home in Jackson (Wyoming).”
Both Naomi and Peter are attorneys. Peter is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and also serves in the U.S. Army.
Following President Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Naomi spoke up regarding his decision.
Naomi Biden shared on X, “I couldn’t be prouder today of my Pop, our President, Joe Biden, who has dedicated his entire being to serving our country with unparalleled honor. He has been—and will continue to be—the most effective president of our lifetime, likely establishing his legacy as one of the most impactful public servants in American history.”
This year, Naomi testified in her father’s federal gun trial in June, discussing his battles with substance abuse.
Reflecting on an interaction with her father in October 2018, around the time he obtained a .38-caliber revolver and allegedly provided false information on a background check, Naomi stated, “He appeared to be doing well and had hope.” However, she acknowledged, “I was aware he was fighting addiction, particularly after the passing of his brother, Beau Biden. Following Beau’s death, things deteriorated.”
