On Monday, Nov. 4, Netflix revealed that the show’s upcoming fifth season will be its final one.

 

The show’s creators, Josh Pate, Jonas Pate, and Shannon Burke, addressed fans in a letter discussing the show’s conclusion.

They stated, “With a blend of sadness and excitement, we are concluding Season Four and moving on to Season Five, where we aim to bring our cherished Pogues home in the way we envisioned years ago.” The letter noted, “Season Five will be our finale, and we believe it will be our best yet. We hope you’ll join us for this final ride.”

Stokes also shared the letter on his Instagram, expressing gratitude to fans for their support over the years.

As he put it, “It will always be Pogues 4 Life.”

What Can We Expect from Season 5’s Storyline?

The creators shared insights into the show’s origins, mentioning that they anticipated its conclusion from the very beginning.

 

They recounted, “In the summer of 2017, we came across a photograph of teenagers on a beach during a power outage. That photo inspired us to create a story about four friends who just wanted to enjoy life.” They continued, “From that moment, we envisioned a mystery that would take audiences on a five-season journey filled with adventure, treasure-hunting, and friendship.”

Burke mentioned that the treasure hunt storyline from Season 4 “will carry through to the end.”

Is There a Release Date for Season 5?

As of now, there is no confirmed release date for Season 5.
