Trevor Lawrence Injury Update: Latest on Jaguars QB’s Status for Sunday Against Texans

The Jacksonville Jaguars are focused on restoring their pride this season. They have suffered four consecutive defeats, bringing their record to 2-9.

On a positive note, quarterback Trevor Lawrence is likely to return and play on Sunday afternoon against the Houston Texans, who are leading the AFC South.

In their last game, the Jaguars faced a tough loss, falling 52-6 to the Detroit Lions after allowing 645 total yards and 38 first downs.

In that match, backup quarterback Mac Jones started and completed 17 of 29 passes for 138 yards, throwing one interception, while the offense was limited to just 20:54 minutes of possession.

Will Trevor Lawrence Play This Week?

After sitting out the last two games due to a left shoulder injury, Lawrence participated in practice this week and is anticipated to be the starting quarterback on Sunday against Houston.

Head coach Doug Pederson mentioned that Lawrence had a solid week of practice, noting he is recovering from an AC sprain in his shoulder, which is not expected to impact his availability.

“I think the sprained AC joint has been difficult to evaluate in terms of the best approach moving forward,” Lawrence stated on Wednesday. “Surgery is one option I’m definitely considering, but it’s still under evaluation day-by-day and week-by-week.”

Lawrence sustained his injury during a close 28-23 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles.

This season, he holds a record of 2-7, completing 168 passes out of 274 attempts with 11 touchdowns and six interceptions.
