A Heartfelt Tribute: Leonardo DiCaprio Celebrates His Beloved Friend Kate Winslet During Their Emotional Reunion

Leonardo DiCaprio expresses admiration for ‘my dear friend’ Kate Winslet during heartfelt reunion

Their bond will endure.

Leonardo DiCaprio attended a screening of Kate Winslet’s latest film “Lee” on Tuesday in Los Angeles to show his support. During his introduction, the acclaimed actor, known for “The Revenant,” praised his former “Titanic” co-star, calling her “my dear friend” and noting that her performance in the film is “nothing short of transformative.”

“I remain in awe,” he stated in a video shared on YouTube. “I admire your strength, integrity, talent, and your passion for every project you undertake.”

After DiCaprio noted that Winslet is “one of the remarkable talents of my generation,” she joined him on stage, and they shared a warm hug and kiss.

“I can’t even look at Leo now because I’m about to cry,” she remarked.

DiCaprio and Winslet are best known for their roles as Jack and Rose in James Cameron’s iconic film “Titanic,” where their characters find love aboard the ill-fated ship.

In “Lee,” Winslet takes on the role of real-life war photographer Lee Miller. DiCaprio mentioned that Winslet had shared her passion for this project with him nine years prior.

Post-“Titanic,” they reunited for the film “Revolutionary Road” in 2008 and have maintained their close friendship. Winslet previously shared with The Guardian that she “couldn’t stop crying” during their first reunion in three years back in 2021.

“I’ve known him for half my life!” she shared. “It’s not like we could easily catch up because we were both stuck in our countries due to COVID. Like many worldwide friendships, we missed each other during that time. He’s my friend, a really close friend. We are connected for life.”

When DiCaprio won the Oscar for Best Actor in 2016, Winslet was visibly emotional while applauding in the audience during his acceptance speech.
