Cowboys crush Browns in a victorious weekend after Dak Prescott’s contract signing
CLEVELAND – Before Dak Prescott’s salary was deposited into his account on Sunday, he was already achieving remarkable throws for touchdowns. This came on the same day he secured a substantial contract extension for his vital role in the NFL, playing for the most valuable franchise.
The Dallas Cowboys quarterback finalized a four-year extension worth $240 million, making his $60 million average per year the highest in NFL history. He is guaranteed $231 million, surpassing the previous record by $1 million, which was held by his Sunday opponent, Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns.
During Dallas’ second drive, while trailing 3-0 in the first quarter, Prescott showcased the talent that led Jerry Jones to invest so heavily in him. He threw a precise pass along the right sideline to his favorite receiver, CeeDee Lamb. Just before scoring, Prescott managed to evade a heavy blitz, delivering another flawlessly executed throw to Brandin Cooks for his first touchdown.
From that point on, the Cowboys dominated to a 33-17 win over a Browns team that found it challenging to make significant offensive progress.
Throughout the game, Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense weren’t at their best the entire afternoon. During the third quarter alone, as the Cowboys managed just 12 plays, Prescott completed only 2 of 6 passes for a mere 5 yards.
However, that was more than sufficient for this match. Overall, Prescott completed 19 of 32 throws, accumulating 179 passing yards and a touchdown to Cooks.
