A Crane Falls Into Building Housing Tampa Bay Times: See Damage from Milton
As Hurricane Milton hit the Florida coast on Wednesday evening, footage showed the aftermath of a crane falling at a construction site in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida.
The crane was being utilized for the construction of a large luxury condominium. Its collapse created a large hole in an office building that is home to multiple businesses, including the Tampa Bay Times newspaper. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
Damage Assessment in St. Petersburg After Crane Incident
St. Petersburg officials are urging residents to stay indoors but avoid the area affected by the incident. The statement emphasized the need for caution.
John Catsimatidis, CEO of Red Apple Group, which is responsible for the skyscraper project, confirmed, “One crane cab in the upper section of the mast has fallen. We are collaborating with city officials and other organizations to evaluate the situation,” as reported by the Tampa Bay Times.
