David Lynch, iconic filmmaker famous for ‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Blue Velvet’ has passed away at 78
David Lynch, a renowned American director, musician, and actor, has died at the age of 78.
His family shared the heartbreaking news in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“It is with profound sadness that we, his family, announce the loss of our beloved man and artist, David Lynch,” the message stated. “We kindly ask for privacy during this time. There is a significant void in the world with his absence. But, as he often said, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.'”
YSL News has reached out to Lynch’s representatives for additional comments.
Lynch was the creative genius behind “Twin Peaks,” a cult-favorite series that introduced a cinematic level of surrealism to television. His other acclaimed films include “Mulholland Drive,” “The Elephant Man,” and “Eraserhead.”
His unique, shadowy, and dream-like filmmaking style has undoubtedly left a lasting impression on American cinema.
Earlier this year, Lynch disclosed that he had been diagnosed with emphysema in 2020, a serious lung condition primarily caused by smoking.
In a November interview with People, Lynch mentioned that he required supplemental oxygen to engage in any activity more strenuous than strolling across a room.
