Enhancing Quantum Networks with Stabilizing Bridges

While entangled photons hold incredible promise for quantum computing and communications, they have a major inherent disadvantage. After one use, they simply disappear. In a new study physicists propose a new strategy to maintain communications in a constantly changing, unpredictable quantum network. By rebuilding these disappearing connections, the researchers found the network eventually settles into

Eric Bieniemy Leaves UCLA After One Season as Offensive Coordinator, Sets Sights on NFL Return: Reports

Eric Bieniemy’s time at UCLA has come to an end after just one year.

The respected coach has reportedly parted ways with UCLA, where he served as the offensive coordinator for one season, as reported by various sources, including Yahoo Sports.

Bieniemy’s agent, Jason Fletcher, provided a statement to the NFL Network indicating that the decision was mutual, and Bieniemy is looking to return to the NFL soon.

“Following last year’s head coaching interviews, (Bieniemy) wanted to keep busy instead of taking a year off,” said the statement. “He chose to assist Deshaun Foster, whom he considers like a brother, at UCLA. The intention was always to re-enter the NFL in 2025, and he eagerly anticipates the upcoming opportunities.”

Once a strong candidate for an NFL head coaching position, Bieniemy returned to the college football scene at a school where he began his coaching journey. It was hoped that his experience would enhance UCLA’s offense in its inaugural season in the Big Ten under new head coach Foster.

Unfortunately, the Bruins’ offensive performance was disappointing overall. They managed an average of 18.4 points per game, ranking 126th out of 133 Division I teams and third from the bottom in the Big Ten. The team exceeded 20 points in only two games. While the passing attack led by senior quarterback Ethan Garbers was respectable at 242.2 yards per game (46th), their running game faltered, averaging just 86.6 yards per game, making it the fourth worst in the nation. Overall, the offense was rated 117th in the country in total offense, leading to a 5-7 finish with a 3-6 record in the Big Ten.

Bieniemy made a name for himself during his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he joined the coaching staff in 2013 and eventually became the offensive coordinator. He played a crucial role in the team’s rise, helping Patrick Mahomes become one of the NFL’s elite players. Under Bieniemy’s guidance, the Chiefs won two Super Bowls and reached the championship game three times in four years.

Despite the Chiefs’ successes, Bieniemy struggled to secure a head coaching position in the NFL, despite numerous interview opportunities. After Kansas City claimed Super Bowl 57, he moved on to serve as the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders for the 2023-24 season. Unfortunately, the Commanders ended with a disappointing 4-13 record, leading to a restructuring that concluded Bieniemy’s tenure after just one year.

It remains uncertain whether Bieniemy will seek to return to the NFL as an offensive coordinator or aim for a head coaching role. Currently, there are vacancies for head coaching positions with teams like the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, and Chicago Bears.
