First Aid Beauty pulls back over 2,700 jars of its popular healing cream
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has declared a recall for a moisturizer produced by the well-known skincare brand First Aid Beauty.
The recall affects 2,756 jars of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream in the Coconut Vanilla scent, which were mistakenly distributed despite being marked for “quarantine,” as mentioned in the recall announcement. First Aid Beauty initiated this recall and has shared similar information on its social media platforms.
In a statement to YSL News on Thursday, First Aid confirmed that this cream was exclusively sold on its official site, FirstAidBeauty.com.
Which moisturizer from First Aid has been recalled?
In their announcement, First Aid made it clear that the recall is limited to the Coconut Vanilla scent, and no other varieties of the Ultra Repair Cream are affected. The company noted that this product was “not intended for sale,” although they did not explain why it was unsellable.
Manufacturers often place products in quarantine during quality control procedures. This practice involves isolating a batch of the product to undergo inspection during manufacturing, as part of routine safety evaluations, legal compliance, or further testing if there are concerns.
The company indicated that they have already contacted the “few customers” who bought the affected cream and have provided them with replacements. As of Thursday afternoon, the Coconut Vanilla version was no longer available on First Aid’s website.
First Aid Beauty confirmed that it has reached out to all customers who purchased the cream in question and sent them replacement products.
“We understand that the term ‘recall’ can be alarming, but we want to assure you that this product met our quality standards,” First Aid stated. “We aim to provide every customer with the best possible experience with our offerings.”
According to First Aid Beauty’s website, all of its products are thoughtfully formulated and adhere strictly to five key standards, which include the use of clean ingredients and being cruelty-free, safe for sensitive skin, dermatologically tested, and free of artificial fragrances.
The brand’s original Ultra Repair Cream is a fan favorite, boasting numerous positive reviews on retailers like Ulta and Sephora.
