Hoda Kotb reconnects with Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager after leaving ‘Today’
Though Hoda Kotb has stepped away from the “Today” show, she’s still keeping in touch with her former co-hosts.
On Wednesday, Kotb posted a photo from a get-together with Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager, just under two weeks after her departure from NBC’s morning program.
In the caption of the photo, Kotb humorously reflected on the timing of their reunion following her emotional farewell on-air. She wrote, “I love Wednesdays!!” and added, “Also remember that big goodbye party? Now I’m like… HIIIIIIIIIIII!”
The selfie features Kotb alongside Guthrie and Bush Hager at a restaurant. Guthrie reposted the image on her own Instagram, stating they were “reunited – but never really apart,” while Bush Hager expressed her affection on her story, saying, “Love these babes.”
Kotb bid farewell to “Today” on January 10, celebrating with a glamorous “Hoda-bration.” She previously co-hosted the main “Today” show with Guthrie and co-hosted the fourth hour with Bush Hager.
Since Kotb’s exit, Craig Melvin has joined Guthrie as co-anchor of “Today,” while Bush Hager is featuring various guest hosts, including Scarlett Johansson, on “Today with Jenna & Friends.”
When she announced her departure from “Today” last year, Kotb mentioned that turning 60 prompted her to “turn the page” and dedicate more time to her children, though she intends to remain part of the NBC family.
Her colleagues honored her in her last episode earlier this month, with Guthrie describing her as “so special, it’s almost beyond description,” and Bush Hager adding, “Endings can be hard and beautiful because they signal the beginning of something new.”
In a farewell message, Kotb expressed gratitude to her viewers for joining her on “the ride of a lifetime.”
During a recent visit to “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Kotb shared her plans to launch “a wellness app and company that will include retreats and a podcast.”
One big advantage of her new schedule is the luxury of sleeping in. After her final broadcast, Kotb posted a screenshot showing she had turned off multiple alarms set for 3:00 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., and exclaimed, “No alarm… whaaaaaaattttt???”
