Israeli cabinet endorses Gaza truce agreement
JERUSALEM − The Israeli administration has approved a ceasefire agreement regarding Gaza and the return of hostages, as announced by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. This declaration followed a lengthy cabinet meeting that extended over six hours and concluded early on Saturday morning.
As part of the agreement, which faced strong opposition from certain cabinet hardliners, a six-week truce is set to commence on Sunday. This will initiate a series of exchanges involving hostages and prisoners, possibly paving the way to conclude the 15-month conflict in Gaza.
