JD Vance jokes that Donald Trump will ‘halt’ the rumored Skyline Chili ice cream flavor
The U.S. vice presidential nominee JD Vance is addressing a quirky concern shared by residents of Cincinnati: the speculation about Graeter’s Skyline Chili Ice Cream.
Worries regarding this eyebrow-raising flavor intensified when Kroger’s website suggested that Graeter’s, an ice cream company, and Skyline Chili, a restaurant, might be teaming up to create a “bold blend of flavors.”
According to the site, the unique ice cream is said to mix in chili spices, crispy oyster crackers, and bits of cheese, offering a “tangy contrast to the sweet treat.”
Vance, who is a senator from Ohio and running alongside Donald Trump, shared his thoughts on this rumored flavor via X, referencing a report by the Cincinnati Enquirer, part of the YSL News Network. He resides in Cincinnati and grew up about 40 miles north of there in Middletown.
“President Trump and I will put an end to this,” Vance tweeted.
Is Skyline Chili Ice Cream a reality?
The listing for “Graeter’s Skyline Chili Ice Cream Pint” on the website is currently not an actual flavor.
Sarah Walters, senior director of public relations for Rmd Advertising, which represents Graeter’s, told The Enquirer that the Skyline Chili ice cream “flavor was merely a concept and is not available or in production.”
Nonetheless, Skyline Chili is exploring a “fun collaboration with our spice blend and Graeter’s ice cream,” as stated by Skyline Chili’s Vice President of Marketing and Brand Engagement, Sarah Sicking.
“We all know Graeter’s makes everything tasty, and crafting a distinctive ice cream blend takes time. We are currently in the research and development stage with Graeter’s and hope to have it ready by next year,” Sicking added.
