Louisiana-Monroe University’s athletics department announced on Saturday that offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship will face disciplinary action for an “unacceptable” interaction with a player during a recent game.

A video circulating online showed Blankenship running onto the field during the Warhawks’ game against Marshall in Week 10. He appeared agitated and appeared to be yelling at a player off-screen before throwing his headset to the ground.

Moments later, a player wearing jersey number 64, identified as redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson, was seen quickly leaving the field, running past Blankenship. Blankenship then ran after Hutchinson, shoving him and shouting in his face as they reached the sideline.

Another player, linebacker Kelbee Holmes, touched Blankenship’s arm in an attempt to intervene, prompting the coach to push back. Two other ULM players, receiver Davon Wells and Earl Barquet Jr., stepped between Blankenship and Hutchinson to de-escalate the situation.

Louisiana-Monroe lost the game to Marshall, 28-23, dropping their record to 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the Sun Belt Conference.
