Michael Keaton Calls Out Trump and Musk: “They Don’t Have Respect for You”

Michael Keaton advises fans that Trump and Musk ‘don’t care about you’ and ‘consider you foolish’

The acclaimed actor criticizes the former president and tech mogul in light of the upcoming 2024 U.S. presidential election.

Batman has some strong opinions about two well-known billionaires.

In an Instagram video shared on Tuesday, Michael Keaton spoke to his followers, particularly “guys,” who might be thinking of joining a rally featuring former President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

“They don’t genuinely value you,” the 73-year-old “Batman” actor declared. “They mock you when you’re not around. They think you’re dumb. They don’t want to associate with you. They share no common ground with you. They’re not your friends.”

Musk recently appeared at a rally for Trump’s presidential campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania, donning a “Make America Great Again” hat, and has voiced his support for Trump’s candidacy, calling the 2024 election a “must-win.”

In the video, which featured Keaton in a baseball cap with an American flag in the background, he alluded to Trump’s notorious 2016 claim that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and still retain his supporters.

“Essentially, what he means is, ‘These people are so foolish, so clueless, they’d continue to support me,'” Keaton commented, finishing with, “They don’t have respect for you. Believe me.”

Keaton hails from Pennsylvania, a state that Trump won in the 2016 election (while President Joe Biden took the state in 2020). A video shared by Vice President Kamala Harris’ Pennsylvania campaign account showed Keaton at an event supporting the Democratic nominee.

“This is becoming extremely alarming,” Keaton stated in the video. “As for me? If (Trump) wins, I’m likely to be fine. The middle class will not fare well. And if you’re young, you’re definitely not going to be fine. I’m warning you, it’s going to get tough.”

Previously, Keaton had supported Biden for president, encouraging viewers in a video before the 2020 election to “put an end to this crazy turmoil,” adding, “Four more years of that? I don’t think so.” Earlier that year, he expressed on Instagram that Trump is “clearly unfit” for the presidency and should step down. “Walk away,” he encouraged. “That would be very patriotic, and I’d gladly write a thank you note. I assure you I’m not being condescending. It’s just the truth.”

During the presidential debate in September between Trump and Harris, Keaton claimed that the vice president “outsmarted” Trump and “revealed” him as the “FAKE” he has always been.

Nevertheless, in a 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Keaton mentioned that he is careful about how he approaches political discussions. “I’ve learned that being famous can actually cause more harm,” he told the publication. “I’ve told people, you don’t want me involved. They’ll say, ‘Of course he brought his Hollywood friend.’ What they forget is that we all started off as just regular people somewhere.”

Keaton has recently enjoyed the success of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the Tim Burton sequel that earned over $400 million globally, and he recently hosted “Saturday Night Live.”
