WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2024 results: Which group of The Bloodline emerged victorious?
The WarGames matches have concluded, revealing who the winners are.
The annual WWE Survivor Series has been a tradition since 1987 and took place last Saturday, featuring its signature match type. Two WarGames matches highlighted the event, with a significant showdown between the new and old Bloodline, furthering their ongoing rivalry. Additionally, three championships were contested, and one title changed hands dramatically. This event capped off the main event premium live events for the year, setting the stage for what’s to come in 2025 as we head toward WrestleMania.
YSL News Sports provided key moments and insights from Survivor Series 2024:
Men’s WarGames match: Original Bloodline vs. New Bloodline
The opening battle was kicked off by Jey Uso and Tama Tonga, with The New Bloodline enjoying a slight advantage early on. Bronson Reed was the first to emerge from his cage, charging straight at Uso. However, things shifted once Jimmy Uso joined in, proving that the Usos remain one of WWE’s premier tag teams. Jacob Fatu made his entrance shortly after, demonstrating his resilience and high-impact style, much suited for this match format.
During the bout, tensions escalated between CM Punk and Roman Reigns. Reigns opted to have Sami Zayn compete instead of Punk, which led to a confrontation when he finally entered the cage, aggravating the “Tribal Chief.”
Once Solo Sikoa joined The New Bloodline inside the cage, they wreaked havoc on their opponents, but Sikoa faced a roadblock when he locked the door to prevent Reigns from entering. Undeterred, Reigns decided to climb the cage, impressively leaping down to take out all members of The New Bloodline. The presence of Paul Heyman at ringside added another layer of strategy to the unfolding chaos.
The first major incident once everyone was inside saw Reigns accidentally spear Punk after Sikoa narrowly avoided the blow. Shortly thereafter, Fatu attempted to capitalize but suffered an injury when he landed awkwardly.
Reed made a notable impact by delivering a dramatic tsunami from the cage onto Reigns, but Punk surprisingly intervened, saving Reigns while Reed crashed through the table. Recognizing Punk’s action, Reigns extended his hand, signaling teamwork.
As the match progressed, we saw a flurry of signature moves, including the Usos reviving their classic 1D move on Fatu. Jimmy Uso also ascended to the top of the cage, executing an impressive Uso splash onto Fatu in a nod to historic WarGames moments.
With The New Bloodline incapacitated, Sikoa found himself outnumbered as the OG Bloodline united to unleash a brutal combination of attacks, finishing with three superkicks from the Usos, a helluva kick from Zayn, a Go To Sleep from Punk, and finally, a spear from Reigns, sealing their victory and asserting the OG Bloodline’s dominance.
Analysis: Another thrilling chapter in The Bloodline saga unfolds.
The rivalry among The Bloodline has been building for months, culminating in an extraordinary match that delivered at every level. Concerns arose regarding whether Reed and Punk would dilute the match’s potency, but they surprisingly contributed depth and increased the excitement. This showdown showcased the talent within The Bloodline, featuring Fatu’s raw power, the Usos’ chemistry, and the charisma of both Reigns and Sikoa.
Having Sikoa take all the key finishing moves was a powerful storytelling device, emphasizing the OG Bloodline’s disdain for the newcomer with his flashy persona. Speculation arose regarding Reigns’ apparent hesitation to seize the opportunity for a title despite the new group being downed, hinting at future confrontations between these two self-proclaimed leaders. Additionally, we can’t overlook the debt Heyman owes to CM Punk, which was starkly illustrated as he exited the ring.
While fans likely anticipated surprise returns or dramatic turns—perhaps from The Rock— the lack thereof might leave some disappointed, although it shouldn’t overshadow the outstanding main event performed.
CM Punk Stirs the Pot with The New Bloodline
For those questioning CM Punk’s engagement in the WarGames match, he made it clear he’s all in and ready for a fierce contest, intensifying the tension as he took the stage.
The Bloodline’s Grand Introductions
In a creative twist reminiscent of “Sunday Night Football,” each member of The Bloodline provided their own humorous introduction ahead of their main WarGames match.
World Heavyweight Championship match: Gunther (c) vs. Damian Priest
Gunther hasn’t displayed the same level of dominance as before, and Priest aimed to showcase this early on by taking the upper hand against the champion. In the opening moments, Priest consistently frustrated Gunther with a series of maneuvers.
Annoyed by the situation, Gunther decided he had enough and unleashed a full-on attack against Priest. He combined vicious strikes with his technical prowess to gain control of the match. Nevertheless, Priest found a way to escape and countered Gunther with impactful chops to the chest.
Priest managed to catch Gunther in a triangle choke, which Gunther escaped from, only to then lock in a sleeper hold. After Priest broke free, Gunther attempted a power bomb, a move that had previously secured many victories for him. However, Priest kicked out, demonstrating his resilience each time Gunther tried to finish him off.
Following a sequence where Priest found himself outside the ring, Gunther was inside when Finn Balor intervened, delivering a stomp to Priest while the referee was distracted.
Gunther capitalized on this distraction, first kicking Balor, and then throwing Priest back into the ring for a power bomb followed by a sleeper hold. With that move, Priest was rendered unconscious, leading the referee to declare Gunther the winner.
Analysis: Damian Priest is gaining significant momentum as a rising star, but he still needs to address his history before re-entering the title race.
Priest effectively highlighted Gunther’s weaknesses and proved he could potentially take him down in the future. Meanwhile, Balor continues to loom, exploiting any opportunity to sabotage his former ally from The Judgment Day. While this subplot is getting a bit tedious, it clearly warrants resolution in the near future.
Although Gunther might not be thrilled that his victory was aided by interference, he still stands as a formidable champion. With Priest likely redirecting his focus towards Balor, it remains uncertain who will challenge for the title next. Gunther needs to ensure he rebounds strongly after a series of inconsistent performances.
Triple threat match for Intercontinental Championship: Bron Breakker (c) vs. Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
Despite being a triple threat bout, Bron Breakker and Sheamus both shared a disdain for Ludwig Kaiser, leading to Kaiser often being sidelined. Each time he tried to enter the action, the other two competitors would team up against him.
Breakker attempted to execute his trademark running spear outside the ring, but Kaiser intercepted him. Subsequently, Kaiser delivered a powerful running knee to Sheamus on the steel steps. Breakker soon retaliated with an incredible jump from the ring apron onto the table, taking out his opponents in a remarkable display of athleticism. Sheamus then gained some momentum with his signature chops outside the ring, while Kaiser tried to swing a shillelagh to halt the action, only for it to backfire against him.
Inside the ring, Sheamus and Breakker were trading blows. Sheamus narrowly dodged a spear and connected with a Brogue Kick, seemingly on his way to victory. However, Kaiser yanked the referee out of the ring before the count could be completed. Frustrated, Sheamus attempted to retaliate against Kaiser, only to fall victim to the shillelagh.
Kaiser appeared close to victory but underestimated Breakker’s explosiveness. The champion delivered a spear to Kaiser, then followed up with another spear on Sheamus to clinch the win and retain his title.
Analysis: With Sheamus in the mix, thrilling bouts are a guarantee.
Every wrestler showcased their unique styles, but Breakker emerged victorious, further solidifying his place on the main roster. It didn’t seem likely that either Sheamus or Kaiser would seize the championship, but the crowd was on the edge of their seats, almost ready to crown Sheamus as the new champion.
It’s disheartening to see Sheamus miss out on winning his first Intercontinental Championship, especially when reverting the title from Breakker quickly seemed illogical. It’s unlikely both wrestlers will continue pursuing Breakker for the title; Sheamus should be the primary contender going forward.
United States Championship match: LA Knight (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Shinsuke Nakamura made his return to television after a long absence, showcasing the skills that have earned him acclaim as a performer. He posed a unique challenge for champion LA Knight, who faced it head-on.
Throughout the initial half of the match, neither competitor found a solid rhythm due to frequent counters. Both wrestlers attempted pinfalls in a bid for a quick victory, but none succeeded. Just when it seemed LA Knight was nearing a win, the savvy Nakamura used the unique dual-ring setup to his advantage by crashing the champion’s head against the steel plate between the rings.
This impact stunned LA Knight, allowing Nakamura to deliver a devastating Kinshasa to the back of his head, securing the pinfall and the title of United States Champion.
Analysis: The “King of Strong Style” is back on top.
Nakamura’s return brought a significant surprise as he reclaimed championship gold. After enduring many setbacks during his WWE tenure, it’s gratifying to see him achieve a monumental victory.
The new side of Nakamura is intriguing, revealing a darker persona contrasted with his previous character. While he might be a fearsome presence, becoming a dreaded champion adds another layer of complexity to the mid-card division.
For LA Knight, this loss is tough, especially after he had revitalized the significance of the United States title during his reign. Despite a short three-month tenure with the championship, his journey to the title was commendable. It wouldn’t be surprising if he sought to reclaim it shortly or even aim for a world title shot.
Women’s WarGames match: Team Liv vs. Team Rhea
The night kicked off with Nia Jax and Bayley, who immediately engaged in a fierce brawl given their longstanding rivalry. Bayley utilized her shoulder sleeve as a weapon, only for Jax to counter and turn it into an advantage for herself.
Naomi, the birthday girl, had the upper hand as she was the first to exit the cage, bringing a kendo stick into the fray and even humorously using a toilet seat against the WWE Women’s Champion.
The atmosphere shifted with each competitor joining in, accompanied by new weapons that escalated the chaos. Liv Morgan was the last to make her entrance, with Rhea Ripley eagerly waiting for her opponent. The Women’s World Champion seemed apprehensive about stepping into the ring and briefly retreated to the locker room, only to return with a bat. By the time she entered, Morgan’s teammates were holding Ripley down while Morgan landed a few strikes at Ripley’s midsection.
As everyone regained their footing, Iyo Sky and Tiffany Stratton climbed to opposite sides of the cage. Sky performed her signature backflip while wielding a trash can, taking out several opponents, while Stratton executed a flip of her own from the other ring.
Amid the chaos, Stratton rummaged through a trash can and produced her Money in the Bank contract, seemingly ready to cash in on her teammates. However, she got distracted, and Sky seized the moment, using a fire extinguisher to thwart Stratton’s attempt, while Raquel Rodriguez found herself handcuffed to the ropes.
Nia Jax had Bianca Belair and Naomi set up on a table, prepared to deliver her signature move, the Annihilat-her, but the two stars reversed the situation and sent Jax crashing through the table instead.
As anticipated, the match culminated in a showdown between Morgan and Ripley, ending dramatically as Ripley executed the Riptide, driving Morgan through a table and securing the pin for the victory.
Analysis: The night kicked off with an impressive women’s WarGames match. Although the primary storyline revolved around Morgan and Ripley, each participant had their moment to shine with intense and brutal maneuvers.
Once again, Sky captivated the audience with her daring leap off the cage, reinforcing her status as one of the top performers on the roster. This kind of performance will undoubtedly fuel her quest for championship glory.
The conclusion of the match between Ripley and Morgan was fitting, with Ripley’s emphatic finish adding another layer to their ongoing rivalry. Look for a championship match to take place in the forthcoming months, possibly as soon as Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Still, I expect the OG Bloodline to triumph, though don’t be surprised by post-match developments. Prediction: OG Bloodline

What is WarGames?
WarGames, introduced by Dusty Rhodes in 1987, stands out as one of WWE’s most distinctive match types. This match features two rings placed next to each other and has been a key part of WWE events since it debuted in NXT in 2017.
These two rings are enclosed in a steel cage without a roof and include two to three teams battling it out. The match starts with one contestant from each team. After five minutes, an extra wrestler from one team joins the action, creating a brief 2-on-1 advantage. Two minutes later, a competitor from the team with fewer members comes in to balance the situation. The teams continue to alternate sending in members until all participants are involved.
A victory can be achieved by pinning or submitting any opponent from the opposing team.
History of Survivor Series
Survivor Series ranks as WWE’s second-longest-running pay-per-view, just behind WrestleMania. The inaugural event was held in 1987 at the Richfield Coliseum in Ohio.
Unlike many premium live events which typically feature a title match as the main event, Survivor Series is known for its focus on tag team bouts, particularly five-on-five elimination matches. These matches often showcase teams made up of stars or feature brand rivalries such as Raw versus SmackDown.
In 2022, Survivor Series began incorporating WarGames matches after their initial introduction in NXT, making this year’s event the fifth and sixth instances of WarGames in the event’s history.
The Bloodline Faces New Challenges
The original Bloodline is back and poised to confront a new version as Roman Reigns aims to reclaim his title of Tribal Chief from Solo Sikoa. Reigns reunited with Jimmy Uso during Bad Blood, and after much persuasion, they succeeded in bringing Jey Uso back into the fold. This trio then welcomed Sami Zayn, who previously had a successful run with them in late 2022.
The new Bloodline, comprising Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu, added a crucial fifth member, Bronson Reed. Just a week before Survivor Series, the OG Bloodline welcomed back Paul Heyman, who announced that CM Punk would be the team’s fifth member.
The upcoming match on Saturday could finally clarify who the true Tribal Chief is, but the rivalry between these factions is far from finished and is likely to extend into the next year.
Is The Rock Making a Comeback?
Could The Rock be returning?
After an extended absence from WWE, The Rock made a surprise appearance at the end of Bad Blood in October, casting a glare at Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. His intentions remain unclear, but it appears he’s keeping a close eye on the unfolding drama within The Bloodline, suggesting his involvement may not be far off.
While there have been no official confirmations regarding The Rock’s return, fans should stay tuned even after the last match concludes.
Roman Reigns and CM Punk Remain Adversaries
Paul Heyman has rejoined Roman Reigns and the OG Bloodline. As they sought another ally for the WarGames match, Heyman reconnected with his old associate CM Punk to fortify their position against the New Bloodline.
Naomi Competing on Her Birthday
Naomi is gearing up for the Women’s WarGames match tonight, coinciding with her 37th birthday. She has received multiple messages of support from fans and fellow wrestlers, including her partner, Bayley.
Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser Prepare for Survivor Series
The two wrestlers chatted with backstage reporter Cathy Kelly ahead of their championship contests at Survivor Series.
Fans in Vancouver Want WrestleMania
As Vancouver hosts Survivor Series tonight, fans in the city are expressing a desire for WWE’s flagship event, WrestleMania, to be held there next.
