College Hockey Matches Set for Wrigley Field During Winter Classic Week
CHICAGO — Wrigley Field, known for its rich history, will host college hockey matches on January 3 and 4, 2025.
The Big Ten teams Notre Dame and Penn State will kick things off on January 3 in a matchup featuring “The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series.”
Overall, four college hockey games are scheduled to occur on a temporary ice rink being established for the NHL Winter Classic on December 31, featuring the Chicago Blackhawks against the St. Louis Blues. This venue also hosted the Winter Classic back in 2009.
Additionally, Ohio State will take on Michigan in the Cubs’ beloved ballpark on the same day, January 3.
On January 4, the Wisconsin men’s hockey team will compete against Michigan, along with a game between the women’s teams of Ohio State and Wisconsin, who play in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
While the specific schedule for the games is still being finalized, the start times are confirmed for 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. ET on January 3, and 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET on January 4.
All four games will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.
