Zachary Levi, star of ‘Shazam!’, supports Donald Trump while hosting event with RFK Jr.
Zachary Levi, known for his role in “Shazam!”, has turned his attention to politics, recently extending his backing to Donald Trump for the presidency.
The 44-year-old actor hosted an event on Saturday alongside former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., whom he had previously supported in the 2024 race. After Kennedy’s campaign came to an end, Levi expressed his endorsement for Trump, the Republican nominee.
“In an ideal world, I may have chosen Bobby,” Levi commented. “However, our world is far from perfect. We are facing a lot of challenges, and it’s crucial that we work to prevent things from getting worse.”
He continued, “We will reclaim this nation and strive to enhance it Of the limited options we have, President Trump is the one who can lead us there.”
Also present at the Dearborn, Michigan event was former Representative Tulsi Gabbard, a Trump supporter as well.
Levi explained to the crowd “why Shazam is here talking to you,” sharing that he grew up in a conservative Christian household where he learned to be cautious of the government. He described Kennedy as the “real deal” and the type of leader he wanted to endorse for president.
Levi portrayed the superhero Shazam, who transforms from a young boy into an adult by saying the magic word, in two DC films released in 2019 and 2023. It remains uncertain if he will reprise his role following a franchise reboot under DC Studios leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Levi is also known for his role in the television series “Chuck” and for voicing Flynn Rider in Disney’s animated film “Tangled.” His latest film, “Harold and the Purple Crayon,” earned just $17.6 million at the U.S. box office.
The actor has not shied away from sharing his political views in the past; in a 2020 post on X, he identified as a Libertarian, stating, “Some issues I care about have been championed by Republicans, while others by Democrats.” In June, he praised Kennedy, saying, “No candidate is perfect, but this man is the best we’ve had in a long time.”
In 2023, Levi faced criticism for a tweet perceived as promoting an anti-vaccine stance. When asked if he agreed that Pfizer was a concern for the world, he responded, “Hardcore agree.”
